Join the Haiti Club Facebook Group
Haiti Club is an informal group of friends and supporters of Haiti and Haiti Ap Grandi. Before the pandemic, we met monthly for dinner together at a Lake Oswego, OR restaurant for conversation, news, planning, and to see the latest photos and videos shared by Jim Shaw. We recently resumed the monthly get-togethers, first over Zoom, and then for in-person dinners followed by Zoom sessions. In the after-dinner Zooms, we share news, updates on Etienne’s programs, photos and videos, and more conversation with people living far away or who find it difficult to get to a weeknight meeting in person.
We are launching an extension of the Haiti Club, using a private Facebook Group. You are invited! A Facebook Group is a place for group communication. Groups let people come together around a common cause, issue, or activity to converse, organize, express objectives, discuss issues, post photos, and share related content. We’ll also use our Group to announce meetings and provide links to Zooms, recordings, presentations, and other stuff.
Our Group is private; it can be discovered by anybody on Facebook, but people must ask to be accepted as a member. Further, only members can see who the other members are and view posts, photos, and other content.
To join, log into your Facebook account, then go to https://www.facebook.com/groups/haiticlubapgrandi and click the Join group button (see image below). You will be asked a question (to screen out bots). If you are currently receiving emails from Haiti Ap Grandi, you should be accepted automatically, but if not, a Group Moderator will approve you within days. If you later decide that this isn’t for you, you can leave the Group at any time.

Note: You might have noticed that the link to the Haiti Club group is not just “haiticlub”; it’s “haiticlubapgrandi”, a combination of our charity’s name and the Group name, a little confusing. We did that because if you ever need to search in Facebook for the group, typing in either “Haiti Club” or “Haiti Ap Grandi” (or you can omit the spaces) will return a HUGE list covering many dozens of pages, and that list might not even include us. On the Search for Groups page, “Haiti Club Ap Grandi” finds our group directly.
