Interns Bust Sod for New Farm

50 hectares of land, almost 125 acres, were placed under the care of Etienne and his non-profit, Passion for Haiti, to create a farm to produce affordable food for the area. “All kinds of food,” including chickens and eggs, will be raised there, and it is a training ground for this year’s summer interns. With over 1 million people from Port Au Prince having relocated to western Haiti, there is a severe shortage of food, resulting in huge price inflation. Etienne and his teams are working hard to increase the food supply. Haiti Ap Grandi, supported by your donations, provides the funds for intern scholarships, agent wages, tools, seeds, and other expenses.

The crop of interns this summer is 150 student volunteers, learning as they work and support farmers. The agents supervise the interns and multiply Etienne’s efforts by running seminars and veterinary clinics.
