Etienne’s Motorcycle Repairs
Haiti Ap Grandi, using donor funds, provided the rugged truck and motorcycle that Etienne and his agents use for transporting people, supplies, livestock, nursery plants, crops, and who knows what else. We also cover the parts and repairs needed by these vehicles that do so much heavy work over terrible roads. While the motorcycle, a Honda XR650L (big, street-legal dirt bike), was in the shop after choking on contaminated fuel, the head and exhaust system were stolen. The bike is important because it uses so much less gas than the truck, and gas prices in Haiti are extremely high.
A motorcycle-hobbyist friend of HApG determined what parts were needed, found the big ones on eBay and the many small items from an online discount shop, cleaned and checked the used parts, replaced the valve seals, extracted and replaced a broken bolt, inserted notes written in Haitian Creole into the service manual, and sent everything off to Agape Air in Florida, who will deliver them to Etienne in Les Cayes.
